Ask one question before the calendar, not five

Every extra field on a booking page costs you bookings. Here is how to decide which single question earns its place.

Most booking pages start with a form. Name, email, phone, reason for visit, how did you hear about us. By the time the calendar shows up, a third of visitors have left.

We looked at 41,000 bookings across Perch teams in August. Pages that asked one question before showing times converted 23 percent better than pages that asked four or more.

The question worth asking is the one that changes who the client should see. For a physio clinic that is the reason for the visit. For a law firm it is the practice area. Everything else can come after the time is picked, or in the confirmation email.
