Round robin is only fair when it counts hours

Counting bookings makes the person with long visits look idle. We changed how Perch balances a team.

Cover for Round robin is only fair when it counts hours

Round robin sounds simple: give the next booking to whoever is next. In practice, teams mix 15 minute calls with 90 minute visits, and counting bookings hides that.

When we asked 30 teams how fair their round robin felt, the ones with mixed visit lengths were the least happy with it.

Perch now balances by booked hours over a rolling 30 days. Teams can still switch to counting bookings, and a few with same-length visits do.
